Sometimes horizontal or vertical stripes - as seen here - can totally change a location. It is also possible to change ambience indoors with this trick, using very subtle shade differences on just one wall, to make a room appear wider or a ceiling higher. Or you can use vertically or horizontally striped curtains for a similar effect.
